A unique experiment that sees three families take a year out from their fast-paced lifestyles, give up their jobs and attempt to live off the land.
As they take self-sufficiency to the suburbs and get a crash course in raising crops, how will their neighbours react as they plough up their back gardens and turn them into small-scale farms, complete with pigs and chickens? Can they cope without the things they used to take for granted?
Will they manage to grow enough produce to support themselves and still have a surplus to sell? They start off debt-free, but with no salaries and no access to credit cards or savings, they have to resort to bartering goods and services to boost their income.
