The Great British Bake Off Winners: Where are they now?

Some of the winners' new ventures may surprise you!

While we wait patiently for a new season of The Great British Bake Off, we take a look back at where some of our favourite winners from the show's 10 seasons are now.

Season one – Edd Kimber

Way back when the show started 10 years ago, Edd was the first to be crowned the British Bake Off winner.

He’s still a keen baker and food write, saying he is extremely proud to be the show’s first ever winner.

“What a wild 10 years it’s been... Through determination and a lot of very hard work I’m so very proud of what I’ve achieved over these past ten years, all I ever wanted to do was encourage people, to help them bake and enjoy this thing I’m so passionate about,” he said.

Season two - Joanne Wheatley

After taking out the baking competition in 2011, a lot has changed for Joanne.

Season three – John Waite

At just 23-eyars-old John took out the competition in 2012 all while studying at Manchester University.

Season four – Frances Quinn

Not only was Frances Quinn the winner of the Great British Bake Off 2013, she’s also the creator of the world’s biggest Jaffa cake!

Season five - Nancy Birtwhistle

She’s the grandmother of eight who delighted us all with her beautiful baking on the show bfrore taking out the title.

Season six - Nadiya Hussain

She was everyone’s favourite nervous baker who took out the Bake Off title and had us all in tears when she was crowned the winner.

And since then, things haven’t slowed down for this passionate foodie. Nadiya has starred in several TV shows including Nadiya's Family Favourites and Nadiya's British Food Adventure. She’s also released a number of cookbooks, including her most recent book Time to Eat.

Season seven - Candice Brown

This PE teacher, turned professional baker has had a whirlwind career since successfully winning the Bake Off title.

She’s starred on a number of British TV shows including Dancing on Ice and has recently become a new owner of a pub called The Green Man.

Season eight – Sophie Faldo

Since starring on the show and taking out the crown in 2017, Sophie now launched her own business, Sophie Faldo Couture Cake.

The Army officer turned cake maker says that while she loved being on the show, she admitted it wasn’t always a plesant experience.

“I'd love to propagate this idea that it's all bunting and rainbows but although the show itself is all lovely and very positive... [there's] pressure. I'm freelance and trying to carve a career and that's just as difficult regardless of where you became famous. Season nine - Rahul Mandal

This scientist from Yorkshire won everyone’s heart in the Bake Off tent as he slowly grew his confidence and gave us some seriously good bakes.

However, after taking out the title he decied to return to his day job at the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre.

Season 10 - David Atherton

Since winning the latest season of Bake Off, David has shared lots of exciting announcements.
