The Goggleboxers are hit with another MAFS bombshell.
The Goggleboxers are used to dramatic scenes and mic-drop moments on Married at First Sight, but this time they were taken by surprise. This week the Goggleboxers tuned in to discover the moment Jules and Cam broadcast their recent, official engagement on national television, and of course, they had something to say about it.
It's the final episode of the season and Jules and Cam are about to meet the other couples. But first, they divulge some happy news. Six weeks after their 'marriage', Jules' sparkler is still set on her finger which she flashes to the camera, revealing their official engagement. This is a bit confusing for Matty. "Wait, how do you get engaged after you got married?" he asks his wife. "It's a fake marriage," Sarah-Marie replies. Then Matty puts his own spin on it: "So it's, Kind of Getting Marrried Before First Sight?" Yep, pretty much.
Jules and Cam continue to swoon over each other as they reveal they want to be married within the year, and to be pregnant in 12 months. To Adam, this is shocking. "Woah!" he yells wide-eyed. Even Kerry has some questions: "How long have they known each other for?" Isabelle quickly replies in a flat tone: "Five seconds." But not all Goggleboxers are cynical of their relationship. "Aw, they're so cute," quips Stacey.
The happy couple have already declared their announcement to the nation, so the next step is to share it with their fellow experimentees. Arriving hand in hand, Jules and Cam enter MAFS HQ with the judges watching on, naming the couple as their greatest love story of 2019. But for Lee, it's not that big of an achievement. "That's your ONLY great love story!" she says.
Everyone's mingling until Cam taps his glass a few times to gain the attention of the room. "Here we go!" says Kate excitedly. The announcement goes down well, mainly with an eruption of high-pitched screams. Expert John is very pleased with himself, which Matty finds too amusing. Mimicking the expert, he says, "Well done, guys! We killed it!" Sarah-Marie also joins in: "Maybe our careers aren't going to be over!"
The good vibes are proving too much for John, as he reveals, "I'm getting emotional here," as he gestures to stands up. "John's getting emotional," Adam repeats, rolling his eyes. Matt Dalton also chips in: "Because he can't believe he actually got one right!"
On happily ever after
The MAFS couples continue to celebrate Jules and Cam, and Tim offers some words for the happy couple: "You're both beautiful people, honestly." The happiness radiates to Faye, as she says, "I really love these two. I really really love them." While love is in the air, Anastasia cuts through to bring it down to reality: "But the statistics - one in, how many seasons? One couple in five, six seasons - pretty good percentage..." Or, congratulations.
