Selling Houses Australia

Episode Guide

Inherited Queenslander

Series 5 · Episode 8

Brothers Trent and Scott inherited an old Queenslander from their late father over a year ago. Although it’s their family home, the brothers need to sell up to split the money and move on with their lives. But the house has been on the market for over a year with only one low offer. The falling market is partly to blame, the fact that it’s the only Queenslander amongst post war and modern houses isn’t helping either. But probably the biggest problem is the bad advice they received from their second agent. He told them to remove all their fathers’ old furniture, as it wasn’t fashionable. Now the house is little more than a stark empty shell, with only a bed and a beanbag for furnishing. It hardly inspires ‘comfortable family home’, and in such a tough market the old Queenslander remains unsold.

These brothers seemed very deserving of the team's help and it was great to see a positive outcome.

I would like to know what was spent on the renovation as I did not hear a budget mentioned?

A great job was done on this house. Glad the brothers were finally able to sell and hopefully they can move on with their lives after losing both parents. My parents also both died from cancer 2 years apart and we just sold our family home - also for 720K! I could totally relate to their situation and how they must feel.
