Selling Houses Australia

Episode Guide

Castle Hill

Series 3 · Episode 7

In this episode of Selling Houses Australia, the team are brought in to help Monique and Thierry sell their multi level fi ve bedroom, three bathroom family home in Castle Hill. The property was first put up for sale more than two years ago with an asking price of $800,000, which they have since dropped to $765,000. Essentially the negative features of the property outweigh the positives. It’s dowdy, slightly dated with an inconvenient layout, but it is generously proportioned, has a pool and a decent backyard in a beautiful bush setting. Shaynna’s makeover sorts out a lot of the style issues and Charlie creates a second kitchen on the ground fl oor near the pool. The property is much more enticing thanks to the $17,000 worth of changes, but will it now sell?

It was ok but I looked through this house twice at the beginning of last year and I liked the inside the way it was. The house was just overpriced. At the time it just sat on 765.000000 for ages in a depressed market and if the owners just dropped it a little bit they would have sold. It was just 20,000000 above our budget and other buyers felt the same way who also liked the house. I liked the ourside makeover but I said to my husband last year that if we bought it I would put the kitchenette down the bottom as well. I loved the huge storage behind the cupboards downstairs but you didn't get to see that on the show.

Loved what Shaynna did with the interiors - just made the house look chic and modern.
