Selling Houses Australia

Episode Guide

Brought to you by

Chatswood

Series 3 · Episode 1

Greg and Marge have been trying to sell their four bedroom Chatswood house for 17 months to no avail. Hardly surprising when you see the state of the place - it’s a frightful, unhygienic mess. Their two grown up kids still live at home and aren’t really helping things on the sale front as they’re not overly keen to move on. The asking price is a hefty 1.2 million dollars. Marge and Greg are both worn down by the stress of shiftwork and pressing money worries and feel overwhelmed to the point of inertia. $18,000 is allocated for cleaning, painting, re-carpeting and tidying the garden and deck. Thanks to the Selling Houses Australia team, a beautiful swan emerges from the quagmire and it looks like Greg and Marge may just get the price they need to finally move forward.

I'm only half way through the episode, but I have such a sense of anger towards the obnoxiousness of the children living in their parents house. Perhaps the Lifestyle channel simply portrayed them in a negative light, however this is verging on painful to watch as the kids thrive off watching their parents suffering at their expense…

Hope all ends well & hope the kids aren't actually that vindictive in reality.

Who did the professional cleaning for the Chatswood home, can you please supply contact?
Every night l watch these episodes & are just amazed with what you achieve. These poor people were caught in a cycle of depression & low selfworth....you could see this written all over their faces. WELL DONE to your amazing team to give a helping hand to the family who really needed it. The end result is amazing & uplifting. l have a similar style home & have taken so much from the different ideas....looking forward to sitting up tonight once again to watch one of my fav home shows.... l have a very close friend who's home has become a trap similar to this one....they are going to be putting it on the market so njext week l am going to sit down & have Deb watch all my taped series to see what we can do to present her home..thanx for such a wonderful program...Karen

Loved to see the difference of before and after .... but is that really the full cost to make the change? 18,000 seems to little. Would that be the 'real' price if they had organised it all themselves ...including the services of everyone who worked on the show or did they get discounted prices because it was on the show?
I would like to do the same thing but am afraid I would find it way too expensive.

Brilliant! And jolly hard work (putting it MILDLY!) Congrats to Shaynna and Charlie for expert vision and effort. Much congratulations to Andrew and MANY THANKS for coming to Australia - what a hard task you have set yourself. Aussies need a wake-up call about presentation of homes (just look through the realestate websites!!) I've been a longtime viewer/fan of Lifestyle Channel and particularly love Andrew's programs and his blunt and honest style. Well done everyone.

I thought it was fab. Really showed the true potential of the house and gave me some ideas for my own. Just goes to show what maintenance can do for a house. I can not wait for the next house I have watch every series from the start
