Selling Houses Australia

Episode Guide

Marrickville

Series 2 · Episode 6

Single mum Tania is living on struggle street. She’s working two jobs, raising two kids on her own and like many Australians she can’t afford to pay the mortgage. Her situation is so dire, the bank has threatened to take the house, unless she can sell up and clear her mountain of debts. After five stressful months on the market, Tania is still without a buyer. She first listed for $850,000, dropping by $50,000 a few months later. Trouble is, the market is falling faster than Tania’s expectations. Her only option is to go to auction – and listen to any offers she gets. Will Tania see sense, or will she stick firm on price and risk losing everything?

She seemed like a nice lady but there were a few things that were a bit off that other people have already mentioned I don't like how she ended up being greedy, two weeks after the auction she got a bid that was 5k less than the price she wanted but was still thinking about wether to take it or not even though it was more than the house was worth! And despite getting more than 5k spent on her for the makeover, she was unwilling to extend that generosity to the next person. I guess it's hard when you are forced to sell your long term home by the bank, it would be difficult to say yes you can have it to someone. So maybe it was less about the money and more about letting go... Hopefully anyway.

Not sure that she said she would rent it out though, she said she heard buyers outside talking about buying it to rent out.

Even if she did do the wrong thing by the show, the show did the right thing by trying to help a person, who appeared to be, in a desperate situation. ??

Just watched today's rerun of this episode. My oh my, Tania is very ungrateful. Terrible, greedy attitude. I agree with everyone else here. The bank was going to take her house, yet she has the gall to act like she's in a position to demand 700k? Loved the work Shayna and Charlie did, but I wish the resources went to a more deserving client.

Tania comes across as greedy, undeserving and a liar. So desperate to see or she'll be homeless yet she won't take the first offer. She says she has no friends or family yet she is sitting on someone's lap at the auction. If she faked it for a free makeovershe should be ashamed and is a disgrace.

I wonder if I could also have the contact details of the company who did the bench top in the kitchen in this property. Thank you

Is it possible (I see someone has asked for this info previously) to have the contact information for the people who re-did the kitchen bench top. Thank you

I thought that Tania was looking for a free makeover. She didn't look like a woman that was working two jobs, rather a woman who was spending everyday working out in the gym given her muscles. She said she had no family or friends to hep her but then their were people who came to the auction with her including some guy who was either her brother or her boyfriend. I heard her say at the auction that if she didn't sell, she was put it on rent as an investment property. She was clearly just milking the show and laying on the struggling single mother act which she clearly wasn't.

Please help needy people selling houses, not these liars and users!!
