About the Show

The A team are back for a record 12th series and raring to face a volatile Australian property market. For the first time in 25 years Sydney and Melbourne are experiencing a tapering off, on the average sales price front. So in a buyer’s market host Andrew Winter may struggle convincing owners the true value of their homes (like he needs another challenge!). Shaynna and Charlie have never been better, delivering incredible makeovers for a unique array of Aussie families. And they’re going everywhere - covering the bush, the beach, the outback and the city. Among the highlights are a Mt Isa high set, a beach shack in Shoalhaven, a traditional Pymble garden home and a Balmain water front. But quirkiest of all is the inclusion of a Gold Coast houseboat. By moving things maritime the team face a whole new set of challenges.

I really like the concept of Selling Houses Australia but does host Andrew Winter have to be so rude, smug and downright condescending? I realize that a lot of the properties are in desperate need of TLC but he needs to remember that they are people’s homes where families are raised and memories made. Just wondering how he would react if a complete stranger came into his home and made sarcastic remarks.

I agree, just plain greedy. They have been in the house for 32yrs, so the offer would have certainly been enough.
Just greedy, is all I can say.

The Pymble couple are so typical of unrealistic greedy people , they get an offer that is very generous , and they refuse it waiting for a better officer . Hope they never sell it and stuck with their house for ever. You don’t live forever you know. They didn’t get any offres at 2.5 million . Spend on renovating and expect even a higher amount . Got no time for rich greedy elitists.

I agree with previous question by Chris1758. Why do you throw good furniture and plants in the skip. Could they not be donated to one of the charity shops? I am sure it would be appreciated and they may come and pick up so it would be no more work for the show besides making a phone call.

Yes the furniture they just throw out, would make another family happy to receive.

Come on guys, do you honestly expect us to believe that the renovations in S12 E1 were $30-40k? Let’s take a look... You put in a structural beam, new walls, floors and French doors. A kitchen with stone benches, under mount skin and stainless appliances. Built in wardrobes, painted insides and out, landscaping including new steps, lighting and furniture hire for styling! Added to that, there would have been a small army of invisible trades such as carpenters, bricklayers, plumbers and electricians. I’d like to bet that the true cost was closer to double that! I love your show, but please let’s get real!

Agree that the renovation budgets are quite unrealistic. Watched S12E9 Mulgrave last night. They removed a retaining wall, put in a steel beam, gutted and replaced kitchen, painted inside and out, floating floor, new carpets and blinds throughout, tiled side patio, scraped front lawn and re-turfed, planted lots of reasonably mature shrubs. and re-staged entire house with rented furniture. That's all I can remember and all of that for $30,000 ?... The team is great - love them, the ideas are really useful but the budgets are not realistic.

With all the hype about legionnaires disease from inhaling potting mix dust and the warnings on the bags, why doesn't Charlie wear a protective mask when dealing with potting mix? I had a friend pass away last year from this very thing and he was using potting mix.

Hi! I just watched Ep 2 season 4 - Bob Mitchell in the Blue Mountains.
This broke my heart watching all his work be changes. Shayna was so respectful.
I’d love to know how he is going. I’d love to see a series of “where are they now”- hope he’s ok xx
