Kirstie Allsopp (Location Location Location) is back with a brand new series of Kirstie’s Homemade Home and this time she’s getting crafty with other people’s homes. On a mission to awaken us all to the benefits of make-do and mend, Kirstie will help six families transform their homes from shabby to shabby chic. She will concentrate on two rooms per family and give them the confidence to throw out their flat-pack furniture and invest in quality items that reflect their individual style and personality.
Kirstie’s role will be that of hand-holder and style mentor; offering advice and support throughout the transformation. After assessing each house, she will take the families to reclamation yards and markets to find bargains and bygones to furnish their homes. She will also enlist the help of local trade and crafts people to do-up and revitalise the family’s existing furniture, giving the whole place a new lease of life.
By giving us the confidence to mix and match old and new, handmade and homemade, antique and bespoke, Kirstie will journey into the world of craft and homemaking and attempt to show the world that homemade beats the mass produced designs of the high street every time.
