Kirstie and Phil are going to show us how to create the perfect Christmas. Each episode will show us how to celebrate in style, whether it’s a Christmas party for children, grown-ups or the actual day itself, Kirstie and Phil will have it covered. Finally they’ll be showing us how to put together the ultimate New Year’s party.
In each programme we’ll see our rented house completely transformed. They’ll sort the decorations, make the best presents, work out what food and drink to serve and finally throw a party.
Along the way, Phil will be on a journey of the mass produced as he visits British factories. He’s on a mission to celebrate the brilliant British products that are made in the UK. He’ll meet the characters at work and he’ll get involved making everything from jigsaws and chocolates to hops garlands and cheddar cheese.
Phil will also be running a series of consumer tests to arm everyone with the know-how of the hottest things on the high street for Christmas. He’s enlisting a team of helpers as he takes on the role of gadget inspector Spencer, road testing the top toys, best boys gizmos, the coolest Christmas cooking aids and top notch fitness gadgets, so you can beat the rush, get your gifts in the sack, and dare we say it, relax on the run up to Christmas. Each week Phil will have a different test product and he’ll set his testers a task to decide whether they’ll have it on their letter to Father Christmas.
Kirstie will seek out talented artisans who will teach her how to make bespoke gifts, decorations, and food, glorious food. She’ll also teach others a few tricks herself when she makes a herb wreath to hang up for New Year and she visits a school to show the kids how to make jingle bell decorations for the tree.
Kirstie and Phil will also be making things together such as decorated cakes, Christmas ham, scarves, and they’ll even be ice sculpting!
