‘It’s been super tough’: Gogglebox's Emmie reunites with her family after four months in isolation

The 91-year-old great grandmother revealed the emotional moment she met her family after being apart for 20 weeks.

Emmie Silbery has endured a lonely start to 2020, spending most of the year at home as she battled  respiratory issues through the Christmas bushfires and more recently, through Coronavirus isolation.

However, after a more than 20 weeks in isolation, the Gogglebox matriarch revealed that she finally was able to see her granddaughter, Isabelle again - albeit in a heartwarming video.

Posting on Instagram, Isabelle wrote:

"The moment Em came out of ISO.

"Four months of being apart has been super tough but her smile lights up our lounge room once again."

With Kerry behind her, Emmie is seen entering Isabelle's house (in leopard-print boots) before Isabelle's son, Luca rushes to his great-grandmother with a bouquet of flowers to greet her.

Beaming with joy, Emmie continues her way to meet Isabelle looking completely healthy and bright.

The beautiful moment has also captured the hearts of Gogglebox fans who have missed seeing Emmie on-screen.

"Omg... that brought me to tears," one said. "Now wrap your arms around yourselves. And that's a big hug from me"

"Glad she is out of iso," another said. "Can't wait to see her on the next Gogglebox season."

Emmie's return to normal life is extra cause for celebration, as just before Christmas she was hospitalised for respiratory issues causing concern for Gogglebox fans around the country.

Sharing a message of thanks, the Silbery matriarch posted a video where she said:

"Thank you everyone for your lovely, kind messages.

"I really appreciate it, and I know I love you as much as you love me.

"I'm getting better by the minute and looking forward to you, and you seeing me on the TV very soon again."

Her heartfelt message resonated with the entire community, including fellow Melbourne Goggleboxers, Lee and Keith:

"Keith and I call you our nana as well," they said. "We are so sad you're not feeling the best but glad to hear you are on the mend. Love you to the moon and back. Love always, keith and Lee."

We love to see that Nana Silbery is on the mend and is finally getting a healthy dose of family time.

We hope to see her, and the rest of our favourite Goggleboxers very soon!
