About the Show

Fragrance guru Jo Malone, famous for her candles, bath and beauty products, is one of Britain’s most successful female entrepreneurs, having built a luxury brand worth millions which is loved by women all over the world. In this inspiring series, she gives budding entrepreneurs the chance to take a product they have created to new heights. Helping her is businessman Nick Leslau. They are looking for people who have an original product or range which they believe has the potential to make the leap from kitchen table to high street. The series concentrates on the highly competitive retail categories of food and condiments, accessories, children and home. Once they have been selected, those who Jo believes to have real potential are guided through the world of branding, public relations and business, and prepared for a pitch to a major retailer. Along the way, Jo enlists the help of some well known experts in their field. In the competitive food and drink arena, Jo helps the seven-strong Singh family, who hope the secret chilli sauce recipe created by Papa Singh has what it takes to tickle tastebuds across the nation, and Miranda and Roland Ballard, who have given up fashionable media careers to nurture their fledgling burger company Muddy Boots into the big time. Elsewhere, Jo and Nick nurture quantum physics doctor Harry Singer to help ensure his innovative picture frames are snapped up by a major retailer. Will he succeed? Growing and sustaining a business during a time of recession is a great challenge, and Jo and Nick know how hard it is to make a small business work, but with creativity, sheer hard work, direction and, perhaps, a bit of luck, they show that there are possibilities out there.
