Fish Creek Church House

Series 1 · Episode 7

Nothing like an impulsive act to take you down a path you hadn’t expected in life. For engineer Peter Riedel and his interior designer wife Mary, their sudden whim was to purchase an 1870’s church for $20,000. It wasn’t even upright at the time and all they got was a pile of boards. Still, it captured their imagination and a plan took shape to re-build the church on their property, overlooking Wilsons Promontory and convert it into a house. Like putting together a giant jigsaw puzzle, their biggest challenge is the number of pieces missing. Get the supplier list from this episode here Get the chat transcript for this episode here

Hi Mary and Peter,
I love the home you have built and I am wondering what the transparent oil/stain you ended up using to achieve the old grey/brown effect on the timber. Would really appreciate your advice as I can not find anything on the market that is quite right.
Many thanksfor your time,
Sharon

I am so impressed with the passion of both the owners Peter and Mary and the builder Ryaqn ??
the crane people had more exposure than the builder who co-ordinated this bulild.
