Gogglebox: Adam and Symon's wittiest calls

Catch them if you can, these boys are quick.

Adam and Symon are the sharp-witted best mates who master the art of commentary. Each week we sit down with the physios to watch a variety of shows on Gogglebox covering a multitude of topics, and they never fall short on words. Here, we round up some of Adam and Symons' best calls.

On language...

Adam and Symon are watching Nick Cummins a.k.a the 'Honey Badger' on The Bachelor. The rugby player is recounting a moment when his 'Gary Jack' was injured while playing sport with a contestant. Even though The Badge is known for his particular way with words, Symon pulls him up on it. "He is a guy who reinforces stereotypes that we ride kangaroos to work," he says.

Next up, Nick is shown smooching a contestant, leaving her to say that she now knows Nick has a soft spot for her. Quick-witted Symon can't pass on this opportunity, and inserts his commentary: "Probably got a hard spot for you now."

On fashion...

The ABC docu-series You Can't Ask That plays a segment on drag queens. Adam and Symon see two queens before and after putting on their costumes, spurring a quick thought from Symon. "Imagine how much relief drag queens would have at the end of the night. Take your heels off, untuck your p****," he muses.

On beauty...

The boys are watching Aretha Franklin perform a shoulder-shimmy funk number on TV. Sporting a blonde hairdo, fuschia dress and matching coloured blush, the Queen of Soul is going all out. "Aretha doesn't do things in halves," Adam mentions. To which Symon replies, "She should've halved that blush."

On cosmetic surgery...

Reality dating show Take Me Out is on and Adam and Symon meet one of the contestants, who appears to have taken advantage of the opportunities in her line of work. The blonde begins to introduce herself, revealing that she works in a cosmetic clinic. "Jeez, wouldn't have picked that!" Adam sarcastically quips. She continues to divulge that there's probably not an area in her face that a needle hasn't been, to which Symon questions, "Did you slip over and fall into the supply closet?"

On pronunciation...

A couple on a renovation show are explaining their confusion between two similar objects, likening it to the phrase 'potato potarto'. But Adam isn't ok with the use of analogy and interjects, "No-one says 'potarto.'" he claims. Adam then goes to prove his point in an example. "Can I please have a potarto cake?" he asks Symon. Worried the message isn't clear, he goes again. "I would love a portato chip, if you've got one." Yep. Not a thing.
