While Wanye and Tom are sadly missing the company of their beloved dog Sati, the newly engaged couple have a cocktail in hand ready for Gogglebox Australia season two.
Q: Did you regret anything you did or said in season one?
Tom: I don’t know the word regret, what you see is what you get. Wayne might regret a lot of what I say, but after 15 years I’m sure he is used to me embarrassing him in public.
Wayne: Nah! Not at all. What you see is what you get.
Q: What’s the best thing about being part of Gogglebox?
Tom: To be totally honest it was embarrassing my mother. She’s still shocked about how much I swear on TV. The other great thing was the wonderful people I have meet out and about, the feedback we get give is incredible. Wayne and I are just being ourselves but to hear that we have been helping people laugh when they are down, being positive role models for Gay Families, it has kind of made us proud.
Wayne: All the amazing people we have met and messages we have received on how we are changing people’s lives in a positive way.
Q: What was your favourite moment from season one?
Tom: I loved all the reactions from the families, but the best thing was seeing our (now deceased) dog, Sati, watching the re-runs… just to see her face again. This season is going to be hard without her.
Wayne: How do I choose one, everyone was so funny. Di’s dry humour, Keith spilling his beer and of course seeing our beautiful dog, Sati.
Q: Do you get noticed in the street by fans?
Tom: It is really surprising how many people recognise us on the streets. We have meet some wonderful people because of the show.
Wayne: We are still blown away on how much we are recognised when we are out and about, especially when we are together. I have met some awesome people.
Q: What shows are you looking forward to watching this season?
Tom: I hope I don’t have to watch another cooking show. When is the Real Housewives of Melbourne starting? Its my favourite show, I love all the Real Housewives shows and I think we have a lot in common, we’re all drunk and trashy.
Wayne: God I hope we get to see the new session of Walking Dead and of course The Real Housewives of Melbourne.
Q: Which celebrity would you love to meet?
Tom: I have met Kylie Minogue, so I really don’t know who else. Oh, the Hemsworth Brothers, but I think I would be too nervous to speak to them they are way too good looking.
Wayne: Would love to have a drink with Alan Carr (Chatty Man) he's naturally funny – no shtick, no routine and throw in the Winchester boys Sam & Dean (Supernatural) , what a night!
Q: Do you laugh when you watch yourself back on TV?
Tom: All the families make me laugh, especially Lee and Keith, they are my favourite. I really didn’t want to watch myself on TV but it was hard not to look, and yes I did laugh at some of the things I said, I’m usually a little tipsy and don’t have any filter so I can never remember what I said.
Wayne: I still struggle watching myself. It’s so surreal seeing yourself on telly but it’s been a laugh watching Tom’s reactions.
Gogglebox Australia airs first on Foxtel on Wednesdays at 9.30PM AEDT.
