Believe it or not, it's been 25 years since Rachel Green appeared in the New York coffee shop, Central Perk, wearing a wedding dress.

So, in honour of this special anniversary of the first ever Friends episode on TV, the beloved sitcom will be hitting movie theatres for fans to enjoy a marathon session of 12 episodes.

There are screenings all over the country on October 27, 2019 with fans being encouraged to come along  and enjoy a selection of some of the most-popular episodes.

"The cultural impact that Friends continues to have, 25 years after its premiere, is astounding," Lisa Gregorian, the President of Warner Bros. Television Group, told Entertainment Weekly.

"It is so amazing to know that the series is still bringing people of all ages together. We could not be more excited to deliver these digitally remastered episodes to theatres — for the first time ever! — so that together, in a shared experience, our loyal fans can enjoy some of their favourite Friends scenes in a new way."
