Father's Day with the Gogglebox Families

Despite getting to know them through our screens, we've all developed a bit of a bond with our favourite Gogglebox families. After all, they're just like us!

This Father's Day, the Goggleboxers will be busy sharing the day with their loved ones, but we managed to chat to some of the families to find out how they'll be spending the day.

The Delpechitras

We spoke to the Delpechitra's eldest son, Wendel, to find out what he, Vestal and Ethan are planning for their lovable dad, Patrick, on Father's Day.

1. Did you buy dad a gift for Father's Day?

We bought dad some new clothes, chocolates and lot and lots of socks!

2. Is Father’s Day a big deal in your house?

Yeah, we always try and make it a really special day for dad, just to show him how much he means to us and how much we appreciate all he does! I remember when we were younger, we would hand make decorations for Dad's room.

3. What do you love most about your dad?

How he is so accepting of everyone, his humbleness and definitely his quirkiness.

4. Can dad ever get annoying?

Dad is one of the greatest yet most annoying people! He never stops talking, especially when watching TV, and most of his comments are so random. Most of the time nobody knows what his talking about. He also thinks he is extremely funny, and he keeps laughing at his own jokes and bringing them up, which, after a while, gets annoying!

5. Patrick, what’s the best part of being a dad?

The best part of being a dad is seeing the kids growing up and becoming fine, young, responsible adults (it's worth all the hard work).

The Daltons

Kate and Matt have been married for 20 years, and - as you know - their two daughters, Holly and Millie, love to have a laugh with dad on the Gogglebox couch.

1. How will you spend Father’s Day?

Kate: We are having a picnic with good family friends of ours and then aim for a family dinner that night.

2. Did you buy your dad a gift? If so, what was it?

Holly and Millie: No gifts as he doesn’t give us enough money to boomerang back to him! We need it more than him!

3. Is Father’s Day a big deal in your house?

Not really. Dad reckons Fathers Day should be 12 times per year.

4. What do you love most about your dad?

Dad drives us everywhere, takes a big interest in our school and social lives (sometimes too much interest, actually!) as well as attending our various sports.

He has taken us to the AFL ever since we were two years old. Our family are mad Hawthorn supporters.

He is also fun and cares for what we do. We actually owe him a lot for our upbringing and opportunities (but don’t tell him).

5. Can dad ever get annoying?

Totally! When we are on the couch he is always talking. He never shuts up.

He also forgets stuff like picking us up from school, even when you remind him and claims he is busy at work.

He also attempts to be mates with our mates which we think is too OTT. He claims he has heaps of mates as well – we always deny it.

6. Matt, what’s the best part of being a dad?

Knowing that my kids have great respect for people, do their best in all endeavours, try out various life experiences and seeing them develop from babies to create their own lives. And that they have been healthy.

The Jacksons

The Jacksons are known as the biggest family on Gogglebox with six adorable kids! Grant is the head of the household, but Corey recently revealed he too will be a dad soon!

1. How will you spend Father’s Day?

Stacey: The kids make dad breakfast, we will have a BBQ lunch together then we are going to watch the Tigers play.

2. Did you buy your dad a gift? If so, what was it?

So much little stuff from the Father’s Day stall [at the kids' school] like photo frames, a back scratcher, a mug, key ring, bottle opener, and a few surprises from all of us.

3. What do you love most about your dad?

Jesse: He likes to take me to football games

Chase: He takes me to sports stalls.

Kane: He has fluffy hair.

Nate: Me is going to grow big and play with him.

Corey: He occasionally stops and says hi to me.

Britney: His personality, he is so immature but it makes me giggle all the time.

4. Can dad ever get annoying?

Jesse: Yes, because he always calls me Jess and I hate being called that.

Chase: When he picks off his toe nails and flicks them at me.

Kane: Dad does stinky farts.

Nate: Daddy does loud burps.

Corey: He cries a lot over the littlest things all the time.

Britney: Hell yes, it’s like living with another brother… always picking on me! Lucky I love him.

6. Grant, what’s the best part of being a dad?

Never being bored! The way it makes you assess what is important in life. Also when you have a bad day or are feeling down one of the kids will say something that will crack me up.
