About the Show

In this eye-opening new series, four celebrities get a taste of the harsh realities of unemployment and various ways to overcome it, participating in an eight-day reality life-swap and fascinating social experiment. With an unparalleled number of people around the world facing redundancy for the first time in their lives due to the global recession, this show offers hope and advice. Living on the breadline with no prospect of a job can be very frightening indeed, but these four successful celebrities are confident they will have no trouble finding work, even if they are incognito. Actor Larry Lamb, garden designer Diarmuid Gavin, interior designer Meg Matthews and model-turned-mechanic Emma Parker Bowles will be stripped of their identities, possessions and wealth, and join the ranks of the 2.5 million people chasing a few dwindling jobs in Britain’s unemployment hotspots. Given some old clothes and basic state handouts to live on, they have four days to adjust to being out of work, out of money and out of their comfort zones.
