About the Show

Surrounded by concrete and noisy traffic, most city people are tempted to quit the rat race for the peace of the countryside. In this series, experts Jules Hudson, Alistair Appleton, Aled Jones and Denise Nurse help people to achieve that dream, finding property with potential and guiding prospective buyers through every aspect of buying, selling and moving.

It was a great show "ESCAPE TO THE COUNTRY" But here in Tasmania all you get is "REPEATS REPEATS AND MORE REPEATS" Now on Friday and Sunday night I change the channel ' WHAT A SHAME. I think the people who press the switch and the people who schedule the programs don't even check whether it has been on a few weeks earlier. I would love either job

I enjoy all the presenters except Sonali Shah, I think she is woeful, and very poor in terms of presentation compared with others. She has no capacity to present any real understanding of a property

Love this show! can't get enough of it , those period character properties are to die for, that johnnie is a rude dolt gets annoyed for no reason.

What I can't stand is when they are given a specific budget with definite conditions for going higher, they invariably go way over this top budget without meeting conditions and then seem bewildered when the buyers aren't happy.

Agree with criticism that a couple of male presenters become rude and irritated when clients express negative comments. They don't seem to realise the show is not about them. Being Australians we feel that as soon as the word character appears it will produce ancient dark dismal homes with too much head bumping timber beams and tiny bedrooms. We would. Love to know if presenters choose the real estate. Nikki Chapman is our very favourite, always seems to present what potential owners ask for, shows homes with style and is always charming spontaneous and never displays irritation if couples don't like what she presents.

I love this show. Sometimes I get a bit annoyed when couples who don't have any kids are looking at what seem quite spacious houses and say that there isn't enough room. I also hate it when the couple have clearly stated that they want to move to the country for privacy and the mystery house they are shown is communal living. This happens repeatedly. I mean, why????

Love this show, but I agree with John61, we would like to know at the end if they buy or not. And we would love for example a show revisited a couple of years down the track to know if they found what they wanted, still leave in the country...

I love this program, but Lifestyle channel needs to lift their game! Now we just have a generic blurb for the description of the show. From reading the detail, I don't know what county it is in, so I don't know if I have seen it or not, or if it is a particular episode I really would like to watch again. Come on LIfestyle, we pay more than enough for the few Foxtel channels we watch. Do a better job of description please.
