Dick Strawbridge has released a new book!

DIY extraordinaire and chef master, Dick Strawbridge is extending his skillset once again.

Anyone who watches Escape To The Cheateau will understand there's no stopping Dick Strawbridge once he sets his mind to something. From a former life as a Lieutenant Colonel gaining an MBE, Dick is also a British engineer, chef and DIY expert, as well as a much-loved television presenter.

He's also an avid environmentalist, which some may see on Escape To The Chateau in his attempts to rebuild the forgotten vegetable gardens and make his family as self-sufficient as possible.

Now, Dick is following a new venture with his oldest son, James Strawbridge in writing and publishing a new book.

"Me and my big boy about to go on Virgin Radio with Chris Evans to talk about our new, Practical Self Sufficiency book," he explained.

The father and son duo will be releasing an updated version of their previous book series, Practical Self Sufficiency, which are detailed guides on modern-day self-sufficient living.

Dick and James have even published a book specialising on Australia, offering guidance and advice for sustainable living in urbanised areas.

However, this year, the Strawbridge men have released the most recent and detailed installment of the series, titled, Practical Self-Sufficiency - The Complete Guide to Sustainable Living Today.

"Wherever you live - be it a small terraced house like James or a rural smallholding - this new edition of Practical Self-sufficiency contains invaluable advice to help you make the most of your own resources and become more eco-friendly," the description explains.

"A comprehensive guide to modern sustainability, the book covers everything from how to conserve energy in the home, keep bees, and grow crops in an urban garden to recipes for smoking your own meat and fish, creating your own oat milk, and preparing your own greener cleaning products.

"Fully illustrated and easy to follow, with plenty of advice and anecdotes, Dick and James's book demonstrates that self-sufficiency doesn't have to mean huge upheaval. By making a few small changes and learning the importance of sustainable living, we all have the ability to help the planet."

You can buy the new book online for $60, as well as Dick and James' other published works.
