I have really enjoyed this season of Selling Houses Australia.
The longer you go on with the show, the more understanding homeowners get when you say you're going to do things - they trust you more so there's less time fighting with people and more time doing, which is really nice. Plus the simple fact is that Selling Houses Australia is just three people who are good friends doing something we love and getting along doing it. We all have a good time.
I thoroughly enjoy helping the homeowners. People get themselves stuck in a situation where they've done all they can and they can't see past what needs doing next - it can be quite confronting for them. Of course, we've done these things hundreds of times so we come in knowing exactly what to do and just do it.
Still, I started on Selling Houses Australia when I was 25 years old and had been running my business for just two years. Landscaping and plants are one of those things where you are always learning. You never know all the plants and how they react to drought or more rain or wind so I'm always gaining more knowledge and applying.
And I love to pass that information on to others. For example, regular viewers know I use Lilli Pilli often for hedging, but another plant I've found works wonders for the boundaries is Podocarpus. It's a great option as it grows well in full sun as well as full shade which makes for a consistent hedge all the way around a property.
There are plenty of other tips and tricks I have come across that can hopefully help all of you with your own homes including how to keep your garden warm as winter approaches, installing your own vertical garden and including eco features to make your garden more sustainable.
I hope you enjoy.
