they are certainly making themselves look foolish...how can they keep using an expression like hoi polloi to mean the aristocracy. .when it means the exact opposite. ...good grief

Can't Get the Staff is off to a bad start even before it's gone to air. The first line of its first ad is: "The hoi polloi are hiring". "Hoi polloi" does NOT mean "the cream of society". It means the common, everyday, riff-raff masses. From the Greek for "the many". The hoi polloi don't hire - they GET hired - if they're lucky.

How hard is it to check in a dictionary?
