Selling Houses Australia

Black Hill, SA: Meet the homeowners

After migrating to Australia from Amsterdam 12 years ago, Sabrina and David settled happily into life on the land when they bought this former Lutheran Church in Black Hill.

The church, built in 1923, had just one former owner who’d converted it into a house.

Sabrina and David had grand plans to renovate but these were thwarted when David suffered from a ruptured disc five years ago. Renovations came to an abrupt halt, frustrating the couple and forcing them to move to Adelaide, where they could be closer to work.

Over seven months, they’ve had two offers in the low to mid $200,000 range, but both of these fell through due to lack of finance.

With its new Airbnb-marketable makeover, this quirky home will make the perfect holiday rental.

The new series of Selling Houses Australia continues Wednesdays at 8.30pm on Lifestyle.
