Went to The Brownie Bar on Saturday afternoon for high tea. It was absolutely lovely, the place is small for sit down area, however it was still nice and relaxing. Julie the owner took care of us and the brownies were just delish. I had to take some home for my sister and nieces, who also loved them. Will definitely be popping back in for some Brownies when I am down that way again.
A very enjoyable time at the Brownie Bar. The atmosphere was pleasant and friendly. The food was delicious and well presented. I will be recommending the Brownie Bar to my family and friends.
The Brownie Bar in McKinnon is cosy and friendly we were treated to a large variety of delicious chocolate brownies and sauces including salted caramel and marshmallow, finger sandwiches, mini quiches, scones with jam and cream, strawberries dipped in melted white chocolate. High tea was complete with cups of tea and coffee or Belgium Hot Chocolate. The service was friendly our waitress explained all the various chocolate brownie varieties and we even bought some to take home as they have take home items also. There's plenty of parking nearby. The Brownie Bar is a lovely quiet spot for an afternoon or morning tea but make sure you book, I'd highly recommend you try The Brownie Bar. Definitely a 5/5
Lovely relaxed environment to enjoy great tasting and beautifully presented food over a first class cup of hot chocolate. The staff were attentive and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We look forward to returning again!
A fantadtic place to go for a High Tea. The food was great and the service was fantastic. Julie, the owner was a lovely person and made us feel kost welcome. The button below is not working I would give it five stars
The Brownie Bar is a boutique coffee and dessert bar, just a few minutes walk from McKinnon Railway Station. The staff are warm and welcoming, although it's obvious that this is a relatively new venture for them. Upon entering, we were assigned to a small, nicely furnished table and our coffee orders were requested. The bright red stools matched the decor perfectly but could be a little difficult for older patrons. The high tea platter was promptly placed on the table with some difficulty, given the size of the table. The coffees arrived soon after. The high tea platter was spectacular. The sandwiches were fresh and flavoursome, and the two varieties of quiche melted in the mouth. There was an assortment of chocolate brownies, with different toppings and additives, along with freshly baked scones with whipped cream and strawberry jam, as well as strawberries, marshmallows and dipping cream. The servings are generous and couldn't be finished between two people. The coffee was the standout. Fresh, aromatic and made to order, it was the perfect size (large) and lasted the whole sitting. The experience could have been further improved with a little more customer service. Water is not provided on the table, and had to be requested, but should be given the decadence and richness of the desserts. Overall, at just $25 a head, the Brownie Bar is the perfect location for a catch up between friends or for celebrating that special occasion. I will certainly be returning.
A little gem in the suburbs. From the unassuming shop front to the small intimate interior The Brownie Bar Melbourne is well worth the trip to McKinnon. Upon entering you are made to feel welcomed by Julie and her attentive staff. An array of brownies proudly on display give you a hint of what is to come.
The high tea for two was well constructed and presented. It would be fair enough to say that we didn't go home hungry after our high tea, in fact we purchased a few brownies to enjoy later. The high tea itself has a selection of brownies that melt in the mouth, scones with jam and cream to share (the scones are worthy of a Country Women's Association bake sale), mini quiches that cater for both non-vegetarian and vegetation alike that were warm without being mouth scolding hot. All served with a generous sized mug of coffee or tea.
So if you are looking for something a bit indulgent, definitely give The Brownie Bar Melbourne a go.
