I went in today to the Darling Quarters Guylian cafe. I found the cafe itself to be very nicely laid out and the wait staff to be very friendly. Everything was neat and tidy and there was a lot of chocolate on display (heaven on a platter).
I took my two year old son and my mum for lunch there. Just for other mums out there, there are provisions for children (high chairs) and toilets on site.
I had a salmon baguette with a chocolate and banana milkshake and my mum had a roasted pumpkin ciabata and mango and strawberry milkshake. We found the food to be divine and the shakes to be beautiful. We actually went all out and got a belgian eclair as well that we shared, and talk about chocolate bombshell. I really could have gone crazy buying stuff in this store.
To finish off my mum got a cappucino and we were completely full and satisfied.
I highly recommend this cafe to anyone that has a remote interest in fine chocolate. A special thanks to the lady that served us, she was super friendly and helpful.
My family and I all enjoyed the special treat of visiting this cafe in the Rocks, Sydney. Excellent service, great drinks and lots of delightful desserts to digest! A very special place to visit - we will go again!
We visited the Guylian cafe in the Darling Quarter during Vivid and overall had a lovely experience. The location is quite convenient and close to the bustling atmosphere of Darling Harbour. It makes for a great stop during a day out along the harbour. The service was a bit slow but once we were seated and ordered, the food and drinks came quite promptly with some smiles. We elected to try two of their desserts, an "Enjoy In" and a berry tart. Both looked amazing and tasted freshly made. I particularly liked that they were not overly sweet. The drinks and individual chocolates were delicious as well. There is a wide variety for all tastes. I'd definitely recommend my friends visit and leave in a chocolate coma. It is well worth it!
Visited the cafe in the Rocks. It was very busy downstairs but plenty of room upstairs, but unfortunately upstairs lacked the buzz of downstairs.
I had the waffles with chocolate sauce and praline ice cream, and my partner had the chocolate cake (which also came with ice cream). Both were delicious, but I was disappointed that the chocolate sauce was not warm.
I would definitely go back for the delicious hot chocolate.
Thanks for the chance to review such a delicious location! I went to Guylian Circular Quay Sydney yesterday around 10.30am. We both ordered pancakes, I had Pancakes with Maple Syrup and my daughter had pancakes with fruit. The pancakes were not light and fluffy, but a bit doughy, which was a bit disappointing as they were about $15 each. We also had an Iced Coffee and a latte which were lovely.
What an amazing view of the harbor while indulging in an array of chocolate and sweet delights. The service was prompt and friendly and she even gave us advice on the different range of cakes. The desserts look amazing and it was hard to choose so we ordered a few and shared them between us. I loved the fruit tart the best.
If chocolate isn't your thing and you are after something more savoury then they also have other options.
Don't forget to try the hot chocolate!
