If you're thinking of taking a family holiday but want something for everyone, a new survey has shed some light on what the kids are looking for these days.
A survey of more than 22,000 kids under the age of 15 revealed what is most important to them on vacation, and unsurprisingly WiFi access was a large priority.
Forget trying to get the kids into the great outdoors, because 89 per cent of those aged 12 to 15 ranked fast WiFi as the most important part of a holiday.
Yet, don't give up hope because there's also a strong chance pools and water slides could distract the kids from their screens, with five- to 11-year-olds considering pools the best part of a trip away.
According to data released by Booking.com, these are the top priorities for the little ones:
- A pool or cool water slides
- Near the beach
- 'Activities I can't do at home'
- Staying up late - i.e. evening activities
- Other kids to play with
- WiFi and a fast internet connection
- A pool
- Lots of activities
- Near the beach
- The chance to take cool photos for social media
To cater to these needs, Booking.com claims these are the destinations that will most suit the desires of kids:
The US has a lot of activities for the whole family, but it's the theme parks that really appeal to the kids. On top of that, the young ones just want a cool pool to play in, and some awesome water slides to take advantage of - two offerings available at many American hotels.
With WiFi ranked as the most essential holiday component for many older kids, your tweens will be happy with a trip to the country with the fastest internet speeds in the world!
Beach activities are very popular among kids and adults! With its stunning islands and crystal clear water, a Mediterranean escape could definitely please the whole family.
Kids want activities they can't do at home - and for the older cohort, they want the chance to document these activities on social media! Apparently, Brazil is the best destination for fresh experiences and social media kudos!
Staying up past their bed time was a big priority for kids aged five to 11, and according to Booking.com, Canada ranked highly for having organised activities, babysitters, kid clubs and shows to keep the kids entertained at night.
