The world's best airport is about to get even better!
Singapore Changi has just been voted the world's best airport for the fifth year in a row - and it isn't about to give up that title anytime soon.
The airport has unveiled ambitious plans for Canopy Park, the nature-themed centrepiece of its new AU$ 2.25 billion Jewel terminal.
It's essentially a giant theme park, featuring bouncy walkways, mazes and slides, all surrounded by lush greenery - over 1,400 trees and palms in total.
So forget all the stress and anxieties you associate with getting through the airport.
Visitors to Changi's Jewel terminal will be able to bounce, roam and slide to their hearts' content!
Perhaps the most spectacular feature of the new airport is the breathtaking 40m high Rain Vortex, which will be the world’s largest indoor waterfall.
It's been designed by the company behind The Dubai Fountain and The Fountains of Bellagio.
Visitors will be able to view the waterfall from the Canopy Bridge, which suspends 23m above ground and will have glass panel flooring.
Of course, there will also be all the dining, shopping and hotel amenities travellers have come to expect from international airports.
"When we conceptualised Canopy Park, we envisaged an area that is not only relaxing because of the lush greenery around, but also one that is filled with timeless activities and interactions for visitors of all ages," said Hung Jean, who is overseeing the project.
That means the slides aren't just for kids, but for the young-at-heart too!
Jewel is scheduled to be opened in early 2019.
