There's a simple trick to avoid waiting for your luggage after your next flight.
Arriving at your holiday destination is exciting... until you have to spend ages waiting at the baggage carousel.
But thankfully there are a couple of ways you can try and ensure your bag is first out of the gates!
The first thing you can do is at the check-in counter. Simply ask if you can have a fragile sticker placed onto your bag as they're typically loaded later and therefore get unloaded first. Of course, this is not foolproof and may not be noticed by baggage handler staff.
Another option is to try and check your bags as close to last as you can. “Bags will always be loaded front to back on the bag carts, so if you check in last, your bags will be in the last bag cart, which will make them the last on the aircraft, and the first off the aircraft at your destination. If they are the first off the aircraft, they will most likely be the first on the bag carts and then the first to be unloaded at baggage claim," ramp worker and gate agent Thomas Lo Sciuto suggests on Quora.
Now, there are always variances in the ways a certain plane or airline may load or unload luggage, but use this as a general guide and you'll hopefully be on the road much faster!
