Whether you’ve been left wide awake at 3am or falling asleep at midday, most people are no stranger to a touch of jet lag after travelling to a different time zone.
The good news is that Etihad Airlines is launching a new ‘air-wellness’ solution to fixing up your body clock.
Etihad and Panasonic have joined forces in order to create wellness solutions to make flying better for each passenger and as a result, Etihad will be the first to trial each innovation.
The first thing to come of this is the ‘Jet Lag Advisor’. The Artificial Intelligence technology is integrated into Etihad’s passenger app and is designed to help travellers combat jet lag.
How does it work?
The advisor provides a personalised plan after you input information such as circadian rhythms, height, flight time, route and time zone.
Each passenger will receive generic and personalised ‘jet lag impact scores’ showing how severe the jet lag may be on that specific route.
During your time in the air, the advisor will send you reminders of what to do at each stage of the flight.

The personalised plan doesn’t just stop when you’re in the air either, but covers pre and post-flight by providing a schedule of recommendations on your sleep, exposure to light, exercise, hydration and the best types of food to consume to help combat jet lag.
The advisor will be available very soon to all Etihad customers.
