Disney is building a fully-immersive Star Wars-themed hotel

Soon you’ll be able to become a part of the Star Wars Saga in a new fully-immersive Disney resort concept.

Star Wars devotees rejoice – Disney has revealed it will be creating a Star Wars-themed hotel at Walt Disney World in Florida.

The hotel is a part of Disney’s new ‘360 Vacation’ concept, meaning that it won’t just feature movie paraphernalia and space-style furniture.

Your stay at the Star Wars resort might include secret Jedi missions, a lightsaber duel, or just chill time with Chewbacca.

According to Bob Chapek, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, visitors of the hotel will plunge headfirst into the Star Wars plotline the moment they step through the doors and into the lobby."Guests will become a citizen of the galaxy, and experience all that entails,” he said in a statement.

Apparently the experience will include dressing in costumes inspired by the film franchise, mingling with Star Wars characters like Princess Leia and Han Solo, and participating in multi-day adventures, or action-packed secret ‘Jedi Knight’ missions.

Each hotel window will have a view out into space, so you’ll feel like you’re on board a galactic starship, straight out of the fictional Star Wars universe.

“Once you leave Earth, you will discover a starship alive with characters, stories, and adventures that unfold all around you," Bob said. "It is 100 percent immersive, and the story will touch every single minute of your day, and it will culminate in a unique journey for every person who visits.”

Before you book in annual leave and search the next available flight - Disney has yet to confirm the completion date of the resort.

News of the immersive Star Wars resort follows on from the big reveal of plans for two new Star Wars theme parks due to open at the Florida and Los Angeles Disney parks in 2019. The new theme parks are titled 'Galaxy's Edge'.
