When you live in Australia, you don’t need to travel far to find a little slice of paradise.  From the white sandy beaches to the luscious rainforests, Australia is a beautiful holiday destination waiting to be discovered.

Catriona Rowntree, TV presenter and brand ambassador for Australia’s luxury holiday deals site LuxuryEscapes.com, tells you where you can find holiday bliss in Australia this summer.

1.   Hibiscus Resort Port Douglas - Queensland

The Hibiscus Resort in Port Douglas is the perfect summer escape located just 300 metres from Main Beach. I love this location because there is always so much to to do, you can take a walk along the promenade, shop for beach couture, dive off the Great Barrier Reef and even go on an Australian safari tour in the surrounding bush land.

2. Hunter Valley Resort – New South Wales

It’s no wonder the Hunter Valley, with is sprawling vineyards is such a popular Australian destination. The quaint Hunter Valley Resort is nestled amongst 40 year old Shiraz vineyards, across 70 secluded acres. Your holiday will be spent tasting robust Australian wines and delectable locally sourced produce, soaking up the scenery on a horse riding adventure or learning some local know-how at the Hunter Valley Wine School.

3. Pearle of Cable Resort –Western Australia

The amazing Pearle of Cable Resort in Broome is set against a breathtaking backdrop. When you stay at this beautiful boutique resort, you are just moments away from crystal clear waters and perfect white sands. You can spend your day exploring the beaches, and come back for an afternoon spa treatment or cocktail. If you’re the type that likes to get out and about, there is so much to see and do in nearby Broome; take a trip back to the dinosaur age and see their footprints from a helicopter, join a camel trek on the beach, or take the whole family to a movie under the stars.

4. Cumberland Lorne Resort – Victoria

I absolutely adore the Cumberland Lorne Resort’s setting.  . Located along the iconic Great Ocean Road, this little wonderland is a must do for families, couples or friends. Make sure you take a walk along the idyllic beach at sunset. The Resort has BBQ facilities so you can embrace the true Australian tradition over summer, or take advantage of the great restaurants nearby and dine out in town.

5. Peppers Manor House – Bowral NSW

If you are after a special place to stay with your partner or a group of friends over summer, Pepper Manor House is the perfect luxury destination. This grand country house transforms into a retreat over summer where food lovers can enjoy one of the Pepper Manor Food Trail Packages, either the Long Lunch Mediterranean Style or the Grandeur in the Garden. Italian cuisine is at its finest at the Long Lunch Mediterranean Style, where even you will learn how to whip up gelato from renowned artisan gelato maker Luigi de Luca.
