Australia's First Capsule Hotel Is Coming To Sydney

The iconic accommodation popular among businessmen in Japan has found new love in Australia.

The nation's first capsule hotel  will come to life in what used to be Sydney's night-time hotspot, Bar Century.

Interior designers, Giant Design Consultants, will refurbish the three-storey, heritage listed landmark - and the 'Century Capsules' hotel will occupy the top floor.

The 72 luxury pods will range in size, starting from 2.2 metres by 1.2 metres for the single (1.6 metres for the deluxe), with options to enter "side on" or "end on".

The accommodation which, according to the designers, is "not quite hotel nor hostel" is aimed at solo-travellers.

Each capsule will contain an LED TV screen, WIFI and mood lighting.

They will set you back $40-$60 for the night, depending on whether you opt for the standard or deluxe capsule.

Considering the price of accommodation in Sydney, we imagine the capsule hotel will be a huge success!

Century Capsules is expected to open in November.
