It is 10 years since the launch of Airbnb, and they're celebrating with a gamut of new features.
Among the most exciting of its new offerings is 'Airbnb Beyond' - a service dedicated to luxury homes you can hire out for your holiday.
Following the company's acquisition of high-end holiday rental site, Luxury Retreats, it will add hundreds of gorgeous homes to its catalogue.
Not only will Airbnb Beyond provide access to first-class acommodation, it will assist in connecting guests with custom experiences and more personalised service.
The luxury feature, along with new 'Airbnb Collections', signifies a major departure from the website's initial brand purpose, which was primarily targeted to solo, budget travellers.
Airbnb Collections describes the improved searchability and curation of listings relating to a specific purpose. For instance, the Family collection will feature homes with fantastic ratings and ideal amenities for families, while the Work collection will curate a list of spaces with great WiFi and more flexible stay and check-in options.

While Family and Work are the first two collections to launch, Airbnb will also launch Honeymoon (designed for couples), Wedding (homes that can host a wedding), Accessibility and Group Getaway packages in the coming months.
You can also now search according to four new property types, Vacation Home, Unique, B&B and Boutique, in addition to the original Entire Home, Private Room and Share Space options.

The Unique home feature is particularly exciting for those who like to holiday outside the box, collating one-of-a-kind homes like treehouses and themed spaces.
Finally, Airbnb announced it would revamp its Superhose program and benefit scheme for "Superguests". It will be trialled on 10,000 guests and launch to the wider community by the end of 2018.
