Want to find Kimye or Brangelina on the streets of LA? Or see movie-making in action? Follow our guide to star-spotting in California - the entertainment capital of the world.
California is by far, the entertainment capital of the world and the set for endless movies and TV shows. The glamour of Tinseltown never fades, with its constant supply of star power, making it the perfect location for star-spotting.
We've enlisted the help of our friends at Visit California to help you track down your favourite celebrity and get up close and personal with the exciting world of film and TV. Here are our top tips!
1. Get Inside the Studios
The good news for die-hard fans is that major Hollywood studios are open to the public for tours. This means you could easily find yourself on the set of one of your favourite TV shows or movies of all time, or even better, in the proximity of your favourite actor or actress!
Two studios definitely worth a mention are Universal Studios and Warner Brothers Studios, which offer special tours and experiences for TV and movie buffs. Universal Studios, part theme park, park back lot, offers a VIP experience with exclusive visits to prop rooms and sets. Warner Brothers offers a fantastic Deluxe Tour, where you can enjoy lunch in the studio commissary - a great spot to see the stars!
2. Get Up Close and Personal
It's never been easier to retrace the footsteps of your favourite stars in Hollywood. Start by taking a walk along Hollywood Boulevard where the ground is inset with terrazzo and brass stars, celebrating the work and lives of TV, film, music and theatre legends, both past and present. Or nearby Grauman's Chinese Theatre with its cement forecourt allows you to touch the hand and footprints of various stars, from Marilyn Monroe to Hugh Jackman!
If you fancy surprising your friends back at home with a selfie, then head to Madame Tussauds Hollywood, where you can pose next to incredibly realistic wax figures of Jennifer Aniston or Julia Roberts, to name a few. However, If you're after something a bit more personal, then enjoy a guided trip with Star Line Tours, where you can get acquainted with celebrity hangouts and their homes.
3. Act Like the Stars
The chances of spotting a celeb are far easier when you think like one. Where are they most likely to go? Rodeo Drive with its ritzy stores in Beverly Hills attracts stars with money to burn - best to go midweek to avoid the celeb gawkers. The trendy Ivy Restaurant, alongside edgy boutiques, is another celebrity hangout. And celebs need their caffeine fix just like us, so head to The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf at Sunset Boulevard and Holloway Drive.
Celebs also love the beach for a bit of R&R, so head to Santa Monica with its oceanfront hotels - The Shore Hotel is perfect for some much needed downtime. With National Geographic naming Santa Monica as one of the Top 10 Beach Cities in the World, enjoy stunning views in amongst stylish decor.

If you're after a bit of action and the Lakers are in town, why not head to the Staples Center (binoculars in tow!) for a basketball game. Courtside regulars like Leonardo Di Caprio and Jack Nicholson are bound to be there.
4. Learn their Secrets
Checking out A-list hotels is the perfect way of scouting a celeb, whether you're wanting to copy their style or see what it's like to live their lifestyle. While Chateau Marmont has been a celeb haunt for decades, Andaz Hotel West Hollywood, is considered the 'hipster's den'. This edgy location is bound to feature a Kardashian or two.
5. Attend Film and TV Events
Up your odds of spotting a celeb by hanging out on the red carpet. Every March in Beverly Hills, Paley Center for Media hosts PaleyFest, screenings and panel interviews with casts of shows such as Glee, Mad Men and The Office.
If you're after more behind the scenes action, then head to a live taping of your favourite show. Peak season is from August to March. Seating for shows like Ellen are limited, but tickets are free!
