The inspiring Australian athlete and author has given birth to her first child.
Turia Pitt and her partner Michael Hoskin have welcomed a baby boy to their family.
The first-time parents shared the happy news via social media, with Turia posting two photos of newborn, Hakavai Hoskin.
According to new.com.au, the couple also sent around an email to close friends, including some media, with the announcement.
"Michael and I want to introduce you to someone ... Meet Hakavai Hoskin," she wrote.
“We’ll be in this little newborn bubble for a few weeks but we wanted to pop our heads out for a moment to share the news directly with you. We are totally in love, and just so stoked!”
Turia has shared much of her pregnancy journey on Instagram, excitedly awaiting the arrival of the baby.
Turia's story has gripped Australia since she was caught in a fire while running an ultramarathon in Western Australia in 2011. She suffered burns to 65 per cent of her body, lost seven fingers and underwent 200 operations on her road to recovery.
She continues to inspire people with her wit and grit, sharing her journey as a motivational speaker and author of two books.
