The Spice Girls are returning for a 20th anniversary concert! Well, most of them...
Baby, Ginger and Scary are courting rumours they will return to the stage following the 20th anniversary of the Spice Girls' first hit, Wannabe.
While many are freaking out about a potential Spice Girls reunion tour, the plans don't appear to include fellow Spice Girls alum, Victoria Beckham (aka Posh) and Mel C (Sporty).
The three returning members - Geri Horner (nee Haliwell), Emma Bunton and Melanie Brown - are also allegedly recording new music together under the name GEM. The moniker is a crafty combo of the trio's intials, get it?
The former Spice Girls formed an official YouTube account and website for GEM, hinting at major things to come.
"We've been thinking, we have the best fans in the whole entire world," Baby, Scary and Ginger said in a video released on July 8.
"You stood by us for 20 years and we want to say thank you. We've had our ups and downs, but you've always been there. And we want to celebrate and have a party – and when we do, you're all invited."
Some believe the three are planning a one-off concert in Hyde Park, however, there are confirmed new hits in the mix.
"We have been in the studio, with just three of them - Mel B and Geri and Emma - and we had a fantastic couple of days," songwriter and producer, Eliot Kennedy, told Good Morning Britain.
"We wrote a brilliant song and the energy was exactly like it was 20 years ago, just as enthusiastic, just as much to say, just as much to celebrate."
The girls reportedly remain great friends, although some better than others.
If their social media accounts are anything to go by, Emma and Geri are the closest of pals. However, it wasn't always this way.
Emma recently revealed to Grazia she didn't speak to Geri for a year after she left the Spice Girls.
"I was so close to Geri - she was like my older sister," she confessed. "It took me a while to forgive her. We probably didn't speak for about a year."
We're glad the two got over the tiff and are finally back together again!
