Big bows, sequins and a beautiful shade of bold bright red were the stand out looks on this year's 90th Academy Awards red carpet.
While most stars opted for a one-of-a-kind couture gown, actress Rita Moreno had a very different take on what's in fashion.
Proving you should never throw away anything in your wardrobe, the actress walked the red carpet in the same gown she wore to the Academy Awards in 1962.
And we've got to say, she looks just as stunning now as she did back then, when she picked up the award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for West Side Story.
Here are some of this year's stand out looks.
Beautifully big bows
The stand out accessory of the night were bows and big ones at that! Nicole Kidman led the charge in an eye-catching midnight blue Armani Prive gown, with a show stopping bow at the front. Kelly Ripa took a risk with two stand out green and pink bows on her black Christian Siriano gown and it paid off.
While Emma Stone's bow wasn't big, her statement was. The actress opted for a stunning Louis Vuitton pantsuit with her front bow giving some feminine detail. Lady Bird star and Best Actress nominee Saoirse Ronan looked lovely in her bow-trimmed pink Calvin Klein By Appointment dress, which is already being labelled 'iconic'.
Bold bright red
A beautifully bright shade of red was the colour of the night. Allison Janney's low-neck, long sleeved Reem Acra gown was a far cry from her I, Tonya character. The actress, who took out the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, looked stunning. Following suit was Meryl Streep who rocked a red Dior gown. And Leslie Mann who wore a Zac Posen Guipure Lace gown with floral embroidery. Last, but not least, Maya Rudolph took her look from neck to toe with this baggy number.
What's an Oscar gown without a little embellishment? Salma Hayek led the pack in a purple custom Gucci gown by Alessandro Michele with crystal-stringed neckline. Jennifer Garner's royal blue gown had gorgeous sheer neckline detail with a draped cape. Best Actress nominee Margot Robbie wore a white Chanel Haute Couture gown with beaded straps. Meanwhile Emily Blunt's high-collared, powder blue gown certainly turned heads.
Sequins and sparkle
While there's always an element of sparkle on the red carpet, sequins were notably the shimmer of choice this awards season. Lupita Nyong'o was a stand out in her custom atelier Versace black and gold gown. Taking the opportunity to shine bright, Sandra Bullock's Louis Vuitton ombré black-and-gold metallic gown with ruffle detail. Meanwhile, Jennifer Lawrence's seemingly heavy metallic Dior gown looked like intricately built armour.
