'Smart' Bikini Tells you When to Reapply Sunscreen

Knowing when to reapply your sunscreen has never been easier with this unique idea, merging fashion with technology.

The French are considered the inventors of humble bikini, so it's quite fitting that a French label, Spinali Design, has taken things a step further with a new take on the summer staple. Marie Spinali from the French town of Mullhouse has designed a swimsuit with its own unique 'sunscreen alert'.

"The idea came to me right away, on a day when I saw someone get sunburned on a beach," she told AFP.

This two-piece swimsuit, retailing at a pricey 149 euros ($216 AUD), features a detachable UV sensor that notifies you when it's time to reapply - via a Smartphone or tablet. It's the latest  in a line of wearable technology fashion items, such as smartwatches from Tag Heuer and tech shirts from Ralph Lauren that track heart rate and breathing patterns.

The 'smart' bikini has a Valentine's function, where a message can be sent to a partner's Smartphone so they can help out with the reapplying too!

Interesting article. It is indeed important to wear the style of halter bikini as per the shape of your body. I recently saw a video on this website which explains when to apply sunscreen while wearing bikinis .
