Former TV star Shannen Doherty has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
"Yes, I have breast cancer, and I am currently undergoing treatment," the actress said in a statement to PEOPLE.
"I am continuing to eat right, exercise and stay very positive about my life.
"I am thankful to my family, friends and doctors for their support and, of course, my fans who have stood by me."
The Beverly Hills 90210 star was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in March 2015 and was forced to reveal her diagnosis after she filed a lawsuit against her former business manager.
The law suit reveals the cancer spread during 2014 and went untreated because she was not properly covered by her health insurance.
She is subsequently suing her former business manager, Tanner Mainstain after he failed to re-enrol her in her health cover, before terminating her contract - leaving her unaware she was no longer covered.
"In November 2013, SAG sent the premium invoice to Tanner Mainstain for Plaintiff's medical insurance coverage for the year 2014," law suit papers obtained by the Hollywood Reporter said.
"However, Defendants ignored it, failed to pay it (without informing Plaintiff) and then promptly terminated their relationship with [Doherty] effective February 7, 2014."
The Charmed star has since been informed that "had she been insured and able to visit her doctor, the cancer could potentially have been stopped, thus obviating the need for future treatment (including mastectomy and chemotherapy) that [she] will likely have to suffer through now."
