Shannen Doherty proves cancer can't keep her down, and has spoken out about the power of staying active while undergoing chemotherapy.
In a series of inspiring social media posts, Shannen Doherty, 45, has revealed she's dancing her way through her battle with cancer.
In a video posted to Instagram, Shannen shared an insight into how she's keeping on during her struggle.
"It's the day after chemo, as you can see: red face, a little bit puffy from the steroids. I'm not feeling too great," she said.
"I would prefer to be laying in bed right now and doing nothing, but guess where I'm heading? I'm going to go workout."
After chemo day. I believe that just moving helps so much in the healing process. It's not always easy and sometimes I can't do it the next day but I try to make an effort to get the blood flowing and the toxins out of my body thru working out. Some days are easy workouts and other days I push it but the key is to MOVE!!! This is for any illness. Obviously check with your doctor. The road to recovery is paved with all sorts of different material. #beastmode #fightlikeagirl #warrior
In her caption she continued:
"I believe that just moving helps so much in the healing process. It's not always easy and sometimes I can't do it the next day, but I try to make an effort to get the blood flowing and the toxins out of my body thru working out."
Shannen then shared a clip of her at a dance class, saying "Any exercise during illness is good. We can do it!"
Shannen is encouraging all people suffering through illness to stay active, if it's all good with your doctor!
Earlier this year, Shannen said her breast cancer had spread but she was continuing to fight through chemotherapy.
