Hormone expert Alisa Vitti told 2Day FM it's all about your hormone levels. 

Women have higher levels of an energy-boosting hormone called 'cortisol', while men apparently have more oestrogen in their system around three o'clock. 

“The combination actually makes men more emotionally present during sex and better able to focus on needs and satisfaction. You can see why 'afternoon delight' is a thing.”

Afternoon delight, indeed.
