Are you going through Drag Race Withdrawal? Don't fret, kittens. A brand new bevy of drag queens will be here to entertain us in RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 2. In the meantime, we pay homage to our list of the 15 standout queens of all time.
The hugely successful reality TV series RuPaul's Drag Race is back and better than ever, with a new judging panel and bunch of over-the-top ladies that are sure to bring all the drama and glitz as they sashay down the runway.
In the lead up to RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 2 airing express from the US on Arena, we've made our list of the top 15 contestants of all time.
This true bona fide drag superstar, who calls herself "terminally delightful", garnered plenty of attention both from the cameras and number of challenges she won in Season 6. Her unique style, being a throwback to the 1950s pinup girl, ensures there's always an excess of glitz and glam.
14. Pandora Boxx
Despite not winning Season 2, Pandora has proven to be a breakout star. Self-described as a "Stepford Wife gone bad, fused with equal parts of cartoon character, fairy godmother and witch with a sprinkling of stripper on top", she aims to spread fabulosity and hilarity to the world, one sequin at a time.
13. Alyssa Edwards
Love her or hate her, there's no denying Alyssa made for an entertaining Season 5. The self-confessed "Vanessa Williams of Drag" was unintentionally hilarious, having the audience in stitches.
12. Sharon Needles
This drag queen dominated her cohort, taking out the crown in Season 4. When the judges asked for glamour, she gave it back in spades. Throughout the series she showed us her vulnerability and her diverse range of skills.
11. Jinkx Monsoon
A firm fan favourite, the love for Jinkx is widespread. No wonder why when she consistently brought her A-game to every challenge. Despite falling sleep due to narcolepsy (which made for great TV), she used her skills in singing and cabaret to entertain the judges.
She may be small in stature, but don't let her height deter you. High energy and fun, Ongina left a large imprint on the show. Revealing she is HIV positive on the show, Ongina has always had a good attitude, even through tragedy.
9. Latrice Royale
Large and in charge, this big ole' queen brought her wisdom and funky style to the stage. During Season 4, there were countless 'What-Would-Latrice-Do-Moments': “BMW: Body Made Wrong;” “Five Gs: Good God, Get a Grip Girl;” “BITCH: Being In Total Control of Herself;” “Jesus is a biscuit, let him sop you up;” and “No T, no shade,” just to name a few.
8. Raja Gemini
This Season 3 winner may have given off a 'holier-than-thou' vibe, like the ring leader of the in-crowd, however there's no doubt she brought her A-game to the runway. Her evening gown made of cash was spellbinding, not to mention her Vivienne Westwood-style Christmas look, as well as paying homage to Stephen King's Carrie.
7. Manila Luzon
This chick is all about 'high drag' with every walk down the runway tailored specifically to the theme of the week. While she may go all out in couture, she's also the queen of camp and comedy.
6. Willam Belli
Season 4 proved to be one of the best in drag race history, when Willam Belli, one of its most scandalous and memorable queens was disqualified for breaking numerous rules. An established actor already, Ms Belli was no stranger to the camera.
Raven brought all the sexual excess, crudeness and bitchiness to the stage in Season 2 and All Stars. Having altercations with pretty much every drag queen she came across, Raven brings out the ultimate in schoolyard cattiness.
4. Bianca Del Rio
Winner of Season 6, Bianca has become a global phenomenon. Compared to the late Joan Rivers for her quick-witted putdowns, you can always expect a good dose of ridiculousness and outlandish behaviour from this out-there queen.
3. Courtney Act
Already Australia's Drag Superstar, Courtney lip-synched her way into the hearts of American audiences. Making firm friends with Bianca Del Rio, she performed alongside her drag mate during this year's Mardi Gras festivities.
2. Alaska Thunderfuck
This legendary queen is a jack of all trades. She can do pretty, goofy, and when necessary, ugly. Taking as many risks as possible, she hit a high note with winning looks including her 'garbage bag couture', making her a fierce competitor in Season 5.
1. Adore Delano
Adore brought her own brand of unique fierceness to Season 6. If you think this queen is all about wigs and makeup, then think again. Ms Delano has also brought her punk attitude and 'street couture princess style' to her album 'Til Death Do Us Party'.
RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 2 returns exclusively to Arena, express from the US from Friday, August 26 at 8.30pm.
