Will you be following the new eye make-up trend featuring prosciutto?

Slices of tender prosciutto are right at home on a charcuterie board, but what about on your face?

Well, that may very well be the case after self-titled makeup activist, Eszter Magyar, shared a photo on Instagram (@makeupbrutalism).

Eszter's photo featured an eye adorned with strips of prosciutto and we all want to know why!

Well, the professional makeup artist told Allure that she has always used this Instagram account to experiment with 'controversial artwork'.

"I love to use unusual things to do looks like bubbles, smoke, used contacts, teeth, lube, whipped cream, etcetera," she told Allure. "When I saw that I had some leftover prosciutto in the fridge, it was obvious I had to transform it into a look."

The prosciutto look was created by ripping a hole in a slice of the deli meat and draping it across her eye. After seeing what Eszter describes as the "colour harmonies" between the sliced meat and her eye, she couldn't resist sharing it to her account.

And don't worry, there was no wastage - Eszter did end up eating that piece of prosciutto once she'd snapped her photo.
