Preparations for the highly anticipated wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are well under way!
The couple have released new details about their wedding, which will take place on May 19.
In an update from Kensington Palace, the couple said they are “hugely grateful for the many good wishes they have received since announcing their engagement".
"They are very much looking forward to the day and to being able to share their celebrations with the public.”
As far as the wedding details go, it will be a royal wedding to remember with not one but two receptions and a royal carriage procession.
The wedding will take place at midday at St George’s Chapel – the same chapel where Prince Harry was baptised and where his cousin Princess Eugenie will marry later this year.
Directly after they say ‘I do’ the couple will embark on a carriage procession from St George’s Chapel through Windsor Town back to Windsor Castle, giving the public an opportunity to celebrate the newlyweds.
"They hope this short journey will provide an opportunity for more people to come together around Windsor and to enjoy the atmosphere of this special day," the statement from Kensington Palace said.
Following the procession the couple will host a reception at St George’s Hall for approximately 800 guests. But the party won’t stop there.
Later that evening a second, private reception will be held for close family and friends, hosted by Prince Charles.
The pair’s wedding falls on the same day as the 2018 FA Cup Final, but soccer fans – including Prince William – won’t miss kick off, which will take place at 5:30pm.
Prince William is the president of the Football Association and usually presents the trophy at the end of the final, but this year it appears he’ll be busy being best man.
Unlike royal couples before them, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are doing things a little differently. The pair have shunned royal tradition by choosing to host their wedding on Saturday rather than a weekday.
And while the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge chose to get married in London, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding will take place 4kms out of the city.
Prince Harry popped the question late last year after the pair’s relationship grew quickly following their first date.
