With so many different types of weddings, it can be tough to choose the perfect outfit. Never fear, here are our expert tips for every wedding occasion.
Everyone loves a wedding. They are great to attend and it's always nice to look back on all of those fond memories through photographs that capture all of the love, joy and happiness in the air.
The photographs of the special day will last forever so if you are a guest, it's always best to ensure you make an effort. It's a great opportunity to dress up and spoil yourself with a manicure and salon session.
With so many different types of weddings these days, it can be a little anxiety ridden to choose the perfect outfit. Never fear, here are my tips for every wedding occasion.
The Beach Wedding:
Becoming more and more popular, the beach wedding oozes relaxed chic. Just because you're at the beach, it doesn't mean you can wear your thongs! You really want to fit in with your surroundings here so my recommendation is to opt for beautiful, natural tones - avoid bold prints at all costs! You don't want to look like a bright beach umbrella! Think light tones when it comes to choosing a dress, something chic. Accessorise with a sunless tan, tasselled hair and light natural make up. A wide brimmed hat is a must! Shoes are always tricky, stick with something quite flat - a little sparkle never hurts. Be sure to re-apply your sun cream.
The Modern Wedding:
The modern wedding can always be a little intimidating. My recommendation here is to opt for a classically shaped dress something from Saba is always a good option as they have great cuts, great fabrics and a good handle on affordable style. Another key look is a suit pant, silk blouse top and a nice stiletto. There are quite a few nice graphic styled dresses that will work this season, floral graphics are also on trend and they can make a nice statement. One toned dresses also work and suit most occasions. Play around with accessories too. You can opt for a bold clutch, necklaces or earrings as statement pieces.
Pastels, florals and neutrals are always recommended for traditional weddings. Less is definitely more - they key here is to look lovely. A nice frock just above or below the knee will do the trick as well as a nice pair of understated heels. Subtle and elegant jewellery such as pearl studded earrings and fine necklaces are a must. When it come sot makeup, keep it quite neutral and play around with blush and lipsticks appropriate for your skin tone.
Such an excuse to bring out that cocktail dress! Glamour is the way when it comes to black tie weddings. My favourite pick of cocktail gowns are on shopbop.com they have a fantastic range both in style and price point and super quick free shipping. Book an appointment with your hairdresser and really go all out with your hair. If you are wearing a strapless dress, try an up-do if you love your shoulders. When it comes to accessories I absolutely love swarovski crystal rings and earrings.
