Patrick Dempsey Joining ‘Bridget Jones's Baby’!

Patrick Dempsey aka McDreamy is in final negotiations to join the cast of Bridget Jones's’ Baby!

According to reports, the hunky actor, 49, is close to finalising his appearance in the upcoming movie 'Bridget Jones's Baby' with Renee Zellweger and Colin Firth.

Renee Zellweger is set to reprise her role as the title character whom she played in 2001's Bridget Jones's Diary and 2004's Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason. Colin Firth is also set to return as Bridget's up-tight love interest, Mark Darcy. Hugh Grant has also confirmed that he will not be reprising his role as love-rat Daniel Cleaver.

Whatever the role is, it will be Patrick's first on-screen appearance since his Grey's Anatomy character, Dereck Shephard, was killed off earlier this year in an attempt to boost ratings for the 11-year-old TV show.

"Will I be allowed to do something different?" he asked Entertainment Weekly after McDreamy's death in April. "Is Derek so identifiable that I can't go on and be someone else? That will be the challenge. To see if people embrace me as someone else."
