Oprah Winfrey defends the Kardashians after Rebel diss

While the Kardashian Klan isn’t exactly everyones' favourite family, they have certainly made an impression on TV queen Oprah Winfrey.

The 61-year-old has jumped to the defence of the Kardashian family after Rebel Wilson refused to work with the youngest Kardashian sisters, Kendall and Kylie at the MTV Video Music Awards recently.

"I interviewed the Kardashians two years ago and I can’t believe how hard they work. People don’t understand that, people think, Oh, if a television camera’s just following you, then that’s just easy," Oprah said on the Kyle and Jackie O show.

"To really create a reality series that looks like something’s actually happening, it means you have to be on all the time.

"I went to film them as a family and I couldn’t believe how hard they worked. We were there for seven hours and they were gonna tape another seven hours after I left. No matter who you are, that is work."

Oprah’s comments come after Aussie actress Rebel Wilson slammed the sisters calling them “superficial “ and saying “their careers aren’t really based on talent”.

“I know they’re super popular, but I’m all about personality and working hard to get to where I am. How Kim Kardashian got famous from the sex tape and I just went to acting school and worked really hard. . ."
