New Dating App Tells You How 'Hot' You Are According to Science

The results are in! On a scale of hideous beast to Kylie Jenner you are... Hmm...

The latest innovation in dating technology is able to guess your age and how hot you are using artificial intelligence.

The app, Blinq, was developed by scientists from the University of Zurich - who are undoubtedly thrilled with their academic legacy.

The app works in real time, allowing you to connect with people whom cross your path or live in your city. You can then express your interest, and if they express theirs, you are free to run off into the virtual sunset together.

However, Blinq's biggest draw card is its vanity-stroking "hot scale".

"For people, first impressions of someone are of determining importance," the website explains. "They are hard to alter through further information. This begs the question if a computer can reach the same judgement."

How vital.

Using artificial intelligence, Blinq will tell you on a six-tiered scale if you are "Hmm", "Ok", "Nice", "Hot", "Stunning", or "Godlike".

According to The New York Times, Blinq rates Nigella Lawson as "ok", and believes Kylie Jenner is pretty damn fine. This leaves us normal folk, well, pretty cynical.

[Side note: It also estimates Kylie as being 23, not 18. Go figure.]

Despite its claim of 76% accuracy, the app reminds us to "Have fun and don’t take the results too seriously."

I'm sure this will be of great comfort once science tells you you're butt ugly and should get off the internet before your feelings get hurt.

Will you be signing up?
