Mineral Makeup Foundation

“Mineral makeup” may seem like another one of those buzz words the beauty industry throws around when it wants you to think a product is infinitely better for you but in the case of foundation the benefits may outweigh the spin.

Loose Mineral Powder Foundation is the purest, most natural-looking form and type of foundation available. Because the minerals buff beautifully into your skin you will never look like you’re wearing caked on makeup.

Bonnie Gillies, from mineral makeup brand Aves Cosmetics, says it’s great for people who play sport because can be applied dry for a lighter coverage or wet for a heavier complete coverage and full spectrum sunscreen. “It is virtually sweat-proof and water-proof,” she explains. “These minerals, by nature, scatter light, so they are deflected from the skin rather than absorbed by it.”

Mineral foundation is also excellent for acne and Rosacea sufferers because it does not clog or irritate the skin. “Aves’ foundation actually contains titanium dioxide and zinc oxide to help soothe sensitive skin,” adds Bonnie.

Ingredients to avoid when choosing Mineral Foundation include Clay (sometimes disguised as ‘Kaolin’), which can dry the skin, or Bismuth Oxychloride, which can irritate sensitive or inflamed skin and if the product contains talc – we all know that ingredient is to be avoided at all costs.

“Aves foundations contain no irritating ingredients and actually help to heal your skin. It’s produced from 100% natural minerals, is certified vegan, Australian made and owned and has eco friendly packaging,” says Bonnie.

Aves is stocked in salons and spas up and down the east cost of Australia plus you can now buy it online at www.avescosmetics.com.

Mmm at the moment my old makeup is nearly finished am am trying to decide what makeup to get but there are so many out there I don't have a clue. The last time I bought makeup I was 3 dress sizes smaller. Help!!! I like the idea of a light weight makeup that looks natural and doesn't look fake but think I need to try it first. I think its time for a girly day.

I have only just now converted to mineral foundation and I love it. I have mature age skin with mature acne and have patches on redness. The mineral makeup not only covers this but you don't feel as if you are wearing any makeup, lovely.
