Kim Kardashian is slowly but surely returning to the spotlight, finally discussing her traumatic Paris robbery and her relationship with Caitlyn Jenner.
In her latest interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Kim Kardashian shed light on how her family is recovering from Caitlyn Jenner's explosive new memoir.
In the book, The Secrets of My Life, Caitlyn goes into detail about her relationship with the Kardashians over the course of her 14-year marriage to Kris, and details the reality of her transition and gender dysphoria.
Among the many revelations about her marriage and family life, Caitlyn claims Kris completely controlled all of her finances and that she knew about her "gender issues".
Since the book's release, Kris alleged Caitlyn's claims are "made up" and Kim appears to agree, telling Ellen the memoir was "hurtful".
"My heart breaks for my mom, you know, because I feel like she’s been through so much and there’s… [Caitlyn is] promoting this book and she’s saying all these things and, you know, I just don’t think it’s necessary, and I just feel like it’s unfair, things aren’t truthful,” Kim said.
She went on to say she will always love Caitlyn but that she doesn't have a relationship with her right now.
"I haven’t talked to her in a couple of weeks and I’ll always, I mean, I’ll always love her. That was my stepdad for so many years. She taught me about character and so much growing up and I just feel like I don’t respect the character that she’s showing now.
"You know, tell your story but just don’t bash other people, you know. I just think it’s, like, not tasteful."
In a separate segment of the interview, Kim detailed what life is like for her after being attacked and robbed in Paris last year.
Choking back tears, Kim said: “I know this sounds crazy, but I know that was meant to happen to me. I don’t want to start crying, but… I’m such a different person I really feel like things happen in your life to teach you things.”
"It was probably no secret, you see it on the show me being flashy, but I was definitely materialistic before,” Kardashian West explained. “Not that there’s anything bad about having things and working hard to get those things - and I’m really proud of everyone that’s around me that’s successful. But I’m so happy that my kids get this me. And that this is who is raising my kids. Because I just don’t care about that stuff anymore, I really don’t."
During the robbery, Kim was bound, gagged and held at gunpoint while a gang of thieves raided her hotel room and stole jewellery.
She has since taken time away from the spotlight to spend with her husband, Kanye West, and their two children, North, 3, and Saint, 1.
